Football Time!!!

Finally fall is in the air!!! There is absolutely nothing better than a fall football Saturday down in the south. Girls in cute dresses, tailgate tents for days, and the sound of a top coming off of a chilled beer. Gives me chills just thinking about it! Steve will be in the Athens this weekend helping Georgia pull out a victory. I will be in Amelia Island for Meridith's bachlorette party. No worries they do have t.v.'s!

I can't wait to see all my college friends and spend the weekend with them at the beach!

Should have some great stories come Tuesday!! Hope everyone has a GREAT Labor Day weekend!

Happy Birthday!

So Steve has been constantly asking me if I was ever going to make another post on our blog so here we go.

This past weekend we celebrated my birthday here in Georgia and luckily my wonderful sister was able to come up and join us! Friday night got to Suwanee a little late so we just walked up to a little local bar and had a few drinks. Apparently she and Steve were hungry because when it was time to head home they decide that the awful waffle was a must. They were gone for 2 hours! Obviously they were solving all the worlds problems!

Saturday was a blast! We floated down the Chattahoochee with a couple of our dear Mr. Miller and Mr. Bud. By the end of the evening they were not so much my friend. Anyway, so this water is the coldest water I have ever been in in my life. No kidding!!! Sister had to use the bathroom so she hopped out thinking it would just take a second and she would easily be able to get back in her float. Boy was she wrong! It was the funniest thing I have seen in a while. She was trying so hard and all Steve and I could do was laugh. She was flopping around like a fish...literally it was hysterical. I felt really bad b/c I know her legs had to be feeling pretty numb because the water was so cold. After about 5 minutes of freaking out she was finally able to get back in her float. We went about 2 more seconds and the water lowered and you could stand up! I think that made it even better!

What a birthday! 25, man I am getting old.

I hope everyone had a marvelous 4th of July! I know we did!!!
This year Steve and I decided to trade in the beach, alcohol and laziness for a hot, early, 10k! The Peachtree Road Race is the largest 10k in the world, and let me tell you it is a blast! Peachtree is lined with people of all different types cheering you on and handing out water, juices, or beer if you had rather chug that. It was so much fun to see 55,000 plus people come together to celebrate our country. My goal was to run the 6.2 miles in under an hour. Sadly that didn't happen. I have been having some knee trouble for the past few weeks and when I reached mile 2 the pain settled in in full force. It was horrible my knee went numb for a few seconds and I could barely put any weight on that leg. Thankfully Piedmont hospital was right to the right of me, but luckily I was able to just walk it off. I walked for a few minutes and then took off running again. I was able to finish in 1 hour and 5 minutes, which is not to shabby.

The only bad thing about running in my first race is that now I am addicted. I am already looking for new races. I really want to run a half marathon, 13.1 miles, so now I am looking. There are a few in in Atlanta, but one is on Thanksgiving and hopefully I will be in Tuscaloosa cheering the Auburn Tigers to a victory against Alabama!!!! I am attempting to talk Allyson into running one with me in Nashville, so if you talk to her tell her it is a good idea!

Steve also ran the race and did great! He hates running and only signed up because I really wanted to. He is so sweet :) He had a good time though. He finished in 1 hour and about 20 minutes. For someone who never runs I though that was awesome! Way to go babe!!

When we started talking about this past weekend our plans were to not drink so much and relax...yeah right! We had a great dinner Friday night at home and we had just planned to watch a movie. While we are eating we get a phone call from our friends Mason and Lucy wondering what we are doing for the evening. Well since we really had no plans we invited them over...Did I mention we hadn't cleaned our house in over a week! So right when he hangs up the phone we start running around like mad people trying to clean. I hate it when people come over and the house is all messy...It reflects poorly on me I feel. They come over and we start chatting and having a good time. Next thing I know Steve and I are down 4 bottles of wine!!! I mean seriously who does that??!! We were out of control. We were sitting on our back porch having a discussion about who knows what. Our neighbors love us I'm sure! We look at the clock and realize that is 2 a.m. and we desperatley need to go to bed. This brings me to Saturday....

For the entire week I was so excited because I was going to be able to sleep in on Saturday. I was still sleep deprived from the past weekned. Sleeping late to me is normally 8. To my suprise Steve comes upstairs to tell me he made biscuits for breakfast. I look at my clock and it was 10:30! I don't think I have slept that late since college. I go downstairs aand pretty much shove a biscuit in my mouth. I am still pretty sleepy so told Steve that I was going to go back upstairs and lay down for a little bit...Oopps! I fell back asleep until 12:30. Of course I wake up hungry I mean duh it is lunch time. So now its my turn to make a meal so I heated up some left overs and called it a day. After my quick lunch, no worries, I went back to sleep until 3:30! Finally I get up because I feel like the laziest person ever. I took Bella on a walk for about 20 minutes and called that my exercise for the day!

Sunday was wonderful! We actually went to bed at a decent hour Saturday night and woke up in time to go to church on Sunday! We are currently looking for a new church and it is so difficult. We want somewhere close so we can be involved, but we also want somewhere where there are people our age and that is not 100% contemporary. It is very difficult! After church we went to target, the grocery store and walmart. What a wonderful Sunday!!

The weekend was a pretty good success! Glad I was finally able to sleep in!

Jobs

So...I absolutely hate having to prepare for job postings/interviews. It is so difficult! I currently have had the opportunity to take on a developmental role in the Energy Efficiency department at Georgia Power. I love what I am doing. I get to use both my analytical side as well as getting to go out and be face to face with customers. Since it is a developmental rotation I now have to apply for the job. It posted yesterday and I am sure numerous people will put in for it. We will see I suppose. I just have to remember to be confident in myself. I definitely have the ability to do the job...I mean I have been doing it for the past few months! The job closes on July 5th so I have plenty of time to get my story together. Goal for this weekend= Get ready to get a new job!!! Wish me luck!

New York New York

We had the time of our lives!!! New York was so much fun and we were able to spend lots of quality time with great friends. Katie and Mary Leigh were both such great hostesses. We walked about 20 miles and I beleive I can speak for the whole group when I say we are still extremely exhausted. Sister had a great brithday weekend. It was go, go, go from the time we got off the plane until the time boarded to come home. When we landed we went straight to Katie's apt and hungout with new friends, ordered pizza and had a great birthday cake! When the clock stroke midnight we headed to Brother Jimmy's. Jordan had to make her first appearance at a bar legally. Friday Mary Leigh showed us around and we spent way to much time in the Kate Spade store! Friday night was the Yankees game, which as always was great fun. The Yankees didn't have the outcome that we had hoped for, but Jami and Jordan had a great first experience in Yankee stadium. You can not go into that place and not fall in love. It is everything you expect a baseball stadium to be.Saturday we did more sight seeing and shoppping then went to dinner at Pastis and then out to Naked Lounge and Gatsbys. It was a blast. Can't wait until we go back!!!
Steve was able to sit at home and relax. He throughly enjoyed it!!

Busy Week

Jordan will be turning 21 on Friday! We (me, Jordan and Jami) will be boarding a plane tomorrow to head to NYC! Katie Brunson has a fabulous weekend planned for us and I cannot wait. We are going to have a weekend full of shopping, site seeing, and as always great company.

Steve and I have finally picked out the pictures that we are going to have blown from the wedding. Our photographer did such an amazing job it was very difficult. The day was so perfect and exactly how we had both always imagined it. I couldn't have asked for anything more!
